Poker is a very popular card game that has been played for centuries and can always been seen played in most “Cowboy Movies” usually with the result of someone cheating and getting shot, and rightly so. If you don’t want to get shot you best be damn good at cheating or quicker on the trigger than your opponent.
There are many variations of the game of Poker, all following similar rules and patterns of play. Depending on which variation of the game you are playing, hands are created using players cards, which are concealed from the other players, or from a combination of players and community cards.
In “Draw Poker” each player recieves 5 cards wich are all concealed from the other players. Players can then replace cards they feel will not win a hand then play begins.
In “Texas Hold’em Poker” each player is dealt just two cards and they then have to make a hand from community cards.
In “Stud Poker” players each receive five cards; some cards are dealt face up, one at a time, and displayed to other players at the table. The main differences between Stud Poker and Draw Poker are that players can not discard or replace any cards and that part of a players’ hand in stud is exposed rather than the entire hand being hidden as in draw.
